In Japan and a local consortium known as The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group has reportedly added a billion-dollar sweetener to its bid to be selected as the preferred operating partner for the integrated casino resort being planned for Nagasaki Prefecture.

According to a report from Inside Asian Gaming, the Tokyo-headquartered entity is a joint enterprise of Asian construction firm The Hong Kong Parkview Group Limited and Japanese hotel giant The Niki Company Limited and is one of three remaining runners in the race to potentially run the Kyushu jurisdiction’s envisioned gambling-friendly development.

Requisite relationship:

Nagasaki Prefecture is home to approximately 1.3 million people and is reportedly eager to win one of Japan’s coming trio of 40-year casino licenses so as to be able to bring a Las Vegas-style facility to a 74-acre plot of land situated next to its Huis Ten Bosch theme park. However, the source detailed that the jurisdiction is first being required to partner with an experienced foreign operator before submitting its final plans to a panel of federal selectors ahead of an April of 2022 deadline.

Interesting inducement:

Just days after adding ten local partners to its bid and The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group has now reportedly explained that it furthermore intends to help bring a $1 billion data center to Nagasaki Prefecture as part of its integrated casino resort proposal. The enterprise purportedly declared that the planned facility would be built and run by Hong Kong-listed logistics real estate platform ESR Cayman Limited and help the wider region to create a ‘new economy infrastructure’.

Continued commitment:

Etsuko Oishi serves as the Executive Vice-President for The Niki Company Limited and he reportedly proclaimed that The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group is now ‘focused on creating a world-class integrated casino resort’ for Nagasaki Prefecture that will help to revitalize the local economy and bring ‘long-term benefits to the community.’

Reportedly read a statement from Oishi…

“Bringing world leaders like ESR Cayman Limited to invest in the region next to us is an example as to what impact our investment would have beyond the integrated casino resort for the region. We are delighted to help drive these major collateral benefits.”

Pronounced praise:

For his part and Stuart Gibson (pictured), Executive Director for ESR Cayman Limited, reportedly expressed delight at signing the partnership with The Niki and Chyau Fwu (Parkview) Group before going on to describe the enterprise and its integrated casino resort proposal for Nagasaki Prefecture as ‘truly the best in class.’

Gibson’s statement reportedly read…

“The development would create recreational, hospitality and cultural venues, making it a world-class destination for global tourism. This would be a perfect fit with our operations and we would commit to creating a 21st Century infrastructure center in the vicinity of its property should it get the license.”
