An Official notification was released recently by the UP Police Recruitment Board invites applications for the various posts of constables in the Uttar Pradesh Police Department. The candidates who have already applied for this recruitment will be notified very soon about the date of the Examination. UP Police Constable Exam Pattern 2018

The official notification for the recruitment does not reveal anything about the mode of the examination. So, the candidates should do preparation keeping in mind that the written exam may be in online mode as well as in offline mode. There will be broadly four phases in the UP Police Constable Recruitment Process. These four phases are as follows:

UP Police Recruitment Examination Process

All the candidates who have applied for this recruitment successfully within the application period will be subjected to the phase 1 of this recruitment which is the written exam. We are providing here complete UP Police Written Exam Syllabus in the end. The Candidates who successfully score above the cut off in this written exam will then be called for the phase 2 of the recruitment which is Physical Test. The Physical Test consists of two different Tests which are Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

The Physical Standards Test will check the candidate if his/her body meets the minimum required height, weight, and structure. Whereas, the Physical Efficiency Test will check the candidate’s Efficiency and Running Capabilities. In the end, the final Examination of the selected candidates will be done and the candidates with any medical issues will be disqualified on the spot. The final selection list will then be displayed and this will fulfill the recruitment process.

UP Police Syllabus 2018

The Written Exam will be of 300 marks and there will be negative marking. The actual penalty for wrong answers has not been decided yet. Written Exam will be broadly from 4 topics as discussed below:

General Awareness:

  • This section will be distributed in two sections. One will consist questions from the current affairs for which the candidate should start reading the newspapers daily. The second section will check the general knowledge of the candidate from subjects like History, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian constitution etc.

Numerical Ability:

  • This is the section that will contain Mathematical Questions of standard 9th & 10th. This is kind of an Aptitude test and the candidate needs to develop out of the box thinking in order to score well in this section.

Reasoning Ability:

  • This will contain simple logical questions that anybody can answer just by thinking as per the question. Usually, this checks the logical ability of the candidate.

General Hindi:

  • This section will consist questions from topics of Hindi from standard 9th and 10th. The candidates are suggested to read any Hindi Grammar book of their choice from standard 10th in order to prepare for this.
